One of Ben's grandmas passed away last week so we have been dealing with the loss of a loved one. It brought back all the feelings I had 3 years ago, when I lost 3 grandparents in under 2 months.
The loss of a loved one is never easy, but the loss of someone as special as this is very difficult. My children were lucky enough to have met her and had her in their lives. She was so excited when we told her we were expecting Katelyn. She was just so happy to "live to be a great- grandparent." Few people on Earth are as accepting and kind as Grandma was. She touch many lives in her 90 years on this planet and is looking out for each and everyone of us from Heaven.. RIP Grandma..
On to news that is less sad... Noah's skin continues to be awful. We have switched to soy formula and now have stopped nursing completely. Now, we are using Nutramegan formula.. Let me tell you it cost 3 times as much and the container is smaller... but it seems to have helped so far and it has only been about 2 days.. too bad his legs and arms got worse today.. I think from all the "pass the baby"-- poor little man has very sensitive skin..
We see the dermatologist on Friday so hopefully he can shed some light on the skin issues.. for now, we are using the new formula and hoping to see a marked improvement.

Crazy skin and heart doctors..
Noah had his 4 month appointment almost 3 weeks ago, he was 16lbs 7oz and almost 26 inches long.. we are still battling eczema on a daily basis. The doc prescribed a steroid ointment to help.. I also changed his formula and have cut my milk intake. All seem to be helping but he still seems miserable. He sort of looks like he was attacked by a cat..
The doc also heard a heart murmur so we were referred to a cardiologist. An EKG and a heart ultrasound later, Noah was diagnosed with a small hole in his heart (that should not be an issue) and some thickening of the walls of the left ventricle, causing a slight increase in the pressure at which blood is pushed out of it. He says at this point it is something to watch and we have to see the cardiologist every 3 months for 2 visits then we will determine if we need to continue..
Katelyn is keeping me busy. She is into everything especially since she has started walking. I am amazed at how quickly she has gone from the Frankenstein like walking to walking like a little kid.. She kind of whimsically walks after everything her heart desires..
They started daycare two weeks ago and have been doing well.. Katelyn has adjusted far better and far more quickly than I had anticipated.. Noah is just happy to have the attention..
Me, I just need to get more sleep...

Crazy times..
Wow, who knew going back to work meant I could possibly be getting even less sleep than before I started working.. Well, I guess I did.. I have been back to work for 2 weeks now and now realize that I am bushed.. but it has been good for my mental state..
I love being at home with the little ones, but it is nice to not have to change diapers or stand and sway for eight hours.. the adult conversation is nice too.. It does make me realize how lucky I am that I can stay at home with them if I want..
The kids start daycare tomorrow. I am most worried about Noah who seems to think he needs to be held about 80% of his waking time.. and about the same amount of his sleeping time...
In other news, Ben took me to a play for my birthday and bought me flowers... :)
