goodbye 2012 Hello 2013

Ah, so the year is ending and it has been a pretty good one I think. The kids are growing and thriving and we are doing the same.

2012 saw both kids learning to walk.

Noah's eczema pretty much cleared up.. 2 trips to the cardiologist.. with fairly good results after the second..

Noah being diagnosed with egg and soy allergies and a severe peanut allergy..

Daddy starting back to school and mommy starting 3 different jobs.. the third is promising for the future..

Christmas was good and we look forward to an excellent 2013

Happy New Year

welcome December...

Not much new to report with December starting.. Christmas is around the corner and I have started working on my prepping for my new job in January teaching Pharmacy tech students.

I have a lot of work to go through as I have to go through each module and do the work myself so that I can best teach the material.. So right now, I am in math hell, since the first module is math. Fractions, decimals, roman numerals, metric, apothecary, and household conversions.. oh my.. It's not hard, just repetitive...

fun stuff... i am excited to start teaching the program, it will be good experience.

Katelyn loves the Christmas tree, but thinks it is broken when the lights aren't on.. Noah so far has stayed away from it.. we will see if that is the same when the real tree gets up..

A lot to be thankful for..

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and wow, I have a lot to be thankful for.. I have two healthy children and a wonderful husband. I start a new job in next month and am very excited..

A lot has happened in the last month. Noah had his first birthday. It is hard to believe my little man is 1. He has started walking as his major mode of transport.. He has been walking for a few months, but now it is the way he gets around.

We made  trip to the Zoo two weeks ago when the weather was in the 60's in November.

Halloween was a blast
Katelyn and I made cookies

We played in the leaves..

And Noah had an allergic reaction to his PBJ sandwich.. Allergy testing confirmed his egg allergy, as well as a peanut allergy..

So now, we are in the process of becoming a peanut controlled environment..

I am totally nervous about tomorrow though.> I start a long term substitute teaching position (for a month).. teaching chemistry, anatomy, and physical science.. challenging but fun.

Noah's first birthday is fast approaching. It is so hard to believe that my little man is going to be 1... can't wait for his party this weekend..

we got our pumpkins yesterday.. Noah thinks they are his toys..

Wow has it been a while..

It has been a while and a lot has been going on.  Katelyn had her birthday, Ben and I had our anniversary and Noah's Birthday is fast approaching..

Our anniversary was uneventful. Ben sent me flowers the Friday before (they were beautiful as usual). We ordered pizza because that was Ben's "last supper" before his tonsillectomy. We will be doing something soon to celebrate, now that he is recovered.

Bedtime has become a challenge in our house as of late due to two teething children. Katelyn is getting her 2 yr molars and Noah, his 1 yr molars. Katelyn has been very clingy at night.. her new favorite phrase is " mommy right there."

I have seen the fishy mopbie (Finding Nemo) at least 100 times since the middle of September and read Where the Wild Things are about a million times..

They are growing up very quickly. Noah will be walking soon and his birthday is in 3 weeks.

I am working on designing and making the kids costumes for Halloween.. I will post pics when I have finished them..

This and That..

The kids are getting big fast.. Katelyn will be 2 next month and Noah is going to 9 months in a few weeks. Both are extremely busy kids always doing something..

This evening, after telling me "no go to bed" she was sitting "reading"  Moo, Boo, La La La.. pointing the the animals and saying them and making the animal noises... so cute..

The kids have played in the sprinkler a lot this summer.. (Ben and I joined in a little one day.. )..

We are also playing with balls and having fun..

Camping in a heat wave..

So we decide to plan a camping trip with family on the hottest weekend of the year.. yep,.. it was like 102 in the shade... but we had fun..

The kids were troopers, we went to the beech, got ice cream and played in the dirt..
I believe my daughter was the dirtiest kid at the campground, but she and her cousin were having so much fun digging in the dirt..

Bedtime was challenging, as were naps.> But we got some sleep despite the heat..

Noah was great... but he wouldn't stay on the blanket we had for him to crawl around on..

Both Noah and Katelyn weren't not keen on the beech.. both went in the water for a bit, but not like at the pool.. I think Katelyn didn't like not seeing the bottom.> Let's just say the water was far from clear, even at the shore..

It was a great time ..

yeah I get to get dirty

                                                       Daddy and Noah..

Zoo's..and splash pads... and long car rides..

We took our first major road trip as a family of 4.. It went well until about an hour from home on the way home when Katelyn melted completely...

We drove to Kentucky and left around 5:30 in the morning and stopped for breakfast along the way.. We finished our trip at the Louisville Zoo.. If you are every in Louisville, I suggest it as a stop.. Katelyn and Noah loved it.. Not only do they have great animals, they have an awesome splash pad for the kids to play in or cool off..

I am sorry about the sideways pics, I am having trouble rotating them.. these are pics from Louisville.

we also visited the science center and then the Cincinnati Zoo.. it was a blast..

The unofficial start to summer..

Ah, Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer. It has been a fairly warm spring mixed with some very cold days, it is good to have the warm weather here for the long haul..

Katelyn experienced playing in the sprinkler for the first time this year. She went up to the water and started playing with it.. The water was cold, but she didn't care...

She is enjoying her weekly swim classes.. I think she would rather do her own thing must of the time.. she is talking more and imitating/repeating after adults.. in fact she was walking around saying "mm ladicious..." Grandma is always saying mmm delicious..

Noah is army crawling this is a new phase for us this early.. Katelyn was content to sit and try to stand, she was not much for rolling over and didn't really crawl til 9 months.. and only had 2 teeth from 6 to 12 months.. Noah cut tooth number 5 already and 6 is on its way.. he will be 7 months on Thursday.

Both are doing terrific and enjoyed our 2nd trip to the zoo this year.. and are looking forward to our trip on Sunday.. tomorrow is biking and the pool at the Metro park.. should be FUN!!!!!!

6 months old already..

Wow, it is hard to believe that baby Noah is 6 months old already.. where does the time go?

It has been crazy around here with me working and Ben watching the kids sometimes while I work.. I wonder sometimes why I wanted to go back to work.. but I do enjoy my time away..

It is time to start sleep training Noah so we can get him a set bedtime and maybe I can get more sleep.. he gets up every 3 to 4 hours now and won't go to sleep on his own often so I just have to get the motivation to start sleep training..  It only took one or two nights with Katelyn so I hope we will be as lucky with him

Katelyn has been all over the place.. playing and climbing.. she doesn't pay attention when she runs and falls sometimes.. These are all new experiences for her...

She has started to be more loving toward her brother which is a far cry from ignoring him like she used to..

I am Great Aunt....

Ok, so I am truly a great Aunt, and have been one since my niece was born 19 years ago.. I have enjoyed being an aunt.. Sunday I became a Great Aunt... "ouch" am I really that OLD.. I have 2 children under 2, I don't feel that old... but I guess I am..

Especially since my niece is my twin sister's daughter.... I guess I am glad that I am only a Great Aunt and not a grandma..

I have decided that little miss Baylee with be a "cousin" to my children since it will be too confusing while they are little..

In the news with my kiddo's-- Katelyn is crazy as ever, she is putting things in anything that opens.. the toilet, tv cabinets, heat vents, garbage cans, and laundry hampers.. and of course I am sure I am missing something.. We had to move all the knives and other sharp items out of the kitchen  drawers because she is reaching in blindly and pulling out items.. she has a multitude of new words.. her favorite being UH-OH

Noah is rolling around the room in search of anything he can get his hands on.. his skin is getting better.. he is also quite the babbler and tries to sit up..
